With dual nationality I was raised in Scotland and spent my summers in California. I learnt to love the Earth from a young age and wrote my first environmental campaign letter at 4 years old. My mother was my first yoga teacher and because of her I trained through the Iyengar method as a teacher 10 years ago in New York where I also worked as an artist, became a partner in an eco-fashion company and helped event coordinate environmental forums with the American Scottish Foundation. After living for 3 years in New York  I returned to Scotland, Edinburgh, where I taught Yoga and became a masseuse at the School of Holistic Therapy. I also hosted music events in our home and gave up plastic for lent. After 3 wonderful years in Edinburgh I got itchy feet and heard about Tamalpa, an expressive movement and Art therapy course in California, with my grandparents still alive and in California I decided to jump at the opportunity. Three years later I am still living in California, San Francisco and my partner and we own a yoga studio called Bija Yoga which mostly holds Iyengar classes. I have become a mother and return to Scotland for long stretches when I can. My family live on the Isle of Gigha so I know Loch Fyne well. I have always dreamed of creating a centre for Healing Arts on Gigha and your festival is deeply aligned with my values. Before living in New York I studied Human Geography at Leeds University, then travelled through Central and South America for a year and lived in Madrid studying Design and teaching English for a year. I am trained in the Orchid Flower essences which my father makes. I am a  mother, teacher, healer and artist, sharing my passion for that which brings us alive and engaged.
