Lou Shackleton

Lou was constantly exploring what she wanted to be as she grew up. In her twenties, she searched deeper; when the career advisor asked “What will you do after your studies?” she said ‘International Woman of Mystery’ ;) She then embarked on an odyssey to discover her vocation and  found her way to a project that supported people with learning disabilities.  To find their voice and agency, to help people make sense of their lives after acquiring brain injuries. To help people see the potential in themselves and create the change they wanted to see in their own lives. As co-founder and change-maker in chief of the You Can Hub, she held workshops and events and provided mentoring to help others make their own choices. Starting with herself, she experimented with change in her own life to help her to get greater clarity on what’s really important to her. Now, Lou applies all that she has learned to help make sense of herself, her place, and helps others to do that too. She works with people who are facing challenges in life, and looking for direction and guidance, helping them to define that for themselves. Lou lives in Cambridge, England with her husband and her ukulele. She regularly practices yoga with Iir Prihatinawati as well as having her own home practice.
