Iir Prihatinawati

Originally from Borneo, Indonesia, Iir learned yoga asana and meditation from her grandmother, a traditional masseuse, midwife, and herbalist. After many years of using her grandmother's teachings to help herself with her breathing and concentration, Iir decided it was time to share her learning, and started on her journey to become a teacher. Iir formally qualified to teach vinyasa in Bali in 2015 and has always loved vinyasa - both in her own practice and teaching it to others.     Later, Iir discovered Ana Forrest’s teaching, becoming a member of the Forrest yoga teaching community through training with Ana herself and with Forrest Yoga guardian Jambo Truong. Iir loves the Forrest practice because it provides the space to accept ourselves and move past our own barriers; to challenge ourselves without pushing to burnout or injury; to heal ourselves. Iir believes that if we focus solely on the physical practice of yoga we miss out on other opportunities to transform and heal. Iir currently lives with her two children in Cambridge, England. She teaches Forrest and Forrest-inspired yoga across the city.
